Mahira Hafeez Khan born 21 December 1982) is a Pakistani film and television actress and former VJ.
After attending Foundation Public
School, she moved to United States at the age of 17 and attended
University of Southern California, but did not complete her degree.
Career
Khan began her career as a VJ when she was 16 years old. She worked as a VJ on shows Most Wanted on MTV Pakistan and Weekends with Mahira on Aag TV.
In 2011, Khan made her film debut with Bol directed by Shoaib
Mansoor, produced by Shamoon Abbasi. Khan played the role of (Ayesha, a
feisty tomboy) who is harassed by her father and marries a Shia Muslim
boy without telling her father. The same year, she acted in her first
television dramas with ARY Digital’s romance Neeyat. She appeared in television program Humsafar, for which she received positive reviews. Her other dramas include the 2013 spiritual romance Shehr-e-Zaat and the 2014 romantic drama Sadqay Tumhare. She played a starring role in a romantic drama Bin Roye (2015), a supporting role in the biographical drama Manto and the coming-of-age drama Ho Mann Jahaan (2016), all of which rank among the highest-grossing Pakistani films. Khan is currently shooting for Raees an upcoming Indian film directed by Rahul Dholakia.
Khan has been named 10th in 50 ‘Sexiest
Asian Women’ poll by Eastern Eye in 2015. According to Eastern Eye.
Mahira Khan was ranked among the top 10 sexiest Asian women of 2015 and
also the sexiest Pakistani woman of 2015.
Personal life
Khan is married to Ali Askari, who had
attended college with her in Los Angeles. The ceremony took place on 13
July 2007. During an interview on The Reham Khan Show, Mahira stated that her parents are Urdu-speaking Pathans.
